Duet Design Group had clear marching orders from the owners of this Cherry Hills Village home: Make the handmade bed the centerpiece of the master bedroom. Luckily, it wasn’t an unfamiliar task: “That bed has gone with me to every bedroom I’ve done for this client,” says Devon Tobin, co-founder of the Littleton-based firm that has designed multiple homes for the young couple—including this one. Handmade by the homeowner and his father from slabs of narra hardwood, the piece is certainly rustic, but the couple’s style isn’t as easily defined: “They are truly eclectic,” Tobin says. “They love modern, they love industrial, she has a true passion for that sophisticated luxurious look…they just love good design.” To satisfy all their tastes this time around, Duet assembled a texture-rich mix of furnishings that span the style spectrum: a feminine pair of mercury-glass-and-bronze lanterns from Currey & Company; sleek wood Sho Modern nightstands with perforated-metal bases and acrylic drawer pulls; linen curtains and Roman shades; and a showstopping abstract-watercolor wallcovering from Area Environments. “The headboard is low and the ceilings are high, so the wallcovering creates a sort of ‘headboard wall,’ ” Tobin explains. The look, though bold, is designed to last: “I like to push the limits of design in areas that are easy to change—a crazy wallcovering, bold pillows,” Tobin says. But, she adds, when it comes to the room’s foundations—walnut-paneled ceilings, site-finished white-oak floors, custom-stained baseboards—“the longevity of those is forever.” Until the next bedroom comes along.

The recalled product was produced on September 21, 2015, and distributed to approximately 266 Starbucks retail stores in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Vermont and Maine.

Just over a month ago, a story came to light indicating a problem with the Citizen lab. Initially, the website The Japan Times broke the news and reported the resignation of top executives at the Citizen Electronics Company as a result of the impropriety. The Edison Report website also covered the report from Japan but reconciled that the errors in the testing and reporting were slight and would not have significantly impacted product performance expectations.

A UL mark means the LED has been tested, inspected, and validated for safety. But just because a product has the UL mark doesn’t mean the mark is real. Mini LED Panel Lights are available in 5.5″, 7″, and 9″ square and round designs. The 5.5″ (MP02700305 square & MP01700305 round), 11 watt panel light produces 700 lumens; the 7″ (MP02900307 square & MP01900307 round), 14 watt panel light produces 900 lumens; and the 9″ (MP021200309 square & MP011200309 round), 19 watt panel light produces 1200 lumens. Each model boasts 64 lm/W and a 3000K CCT (4000K versions also offered) with a 90+ CRI. The panels operate on 120VAC 60 Hz and are compatible with standard incandescent dimmer controls, providing consistent dimming from 5% to 100%.

So it was no surprise that bendable OLED panels were the major story at L+B since that’s hard to accomplish with LEDs. The panel makers ship the products flat, and the luminaire manufacturer creates the shape in the manufacturing process. The products from OLEDWorks can only be bent in one dimension. LG Display products can be bent in both dimensions and that was evident in a demo called the Ribbon.
